How it works

HeartFood is an app retail store offering the healthiest products with a natural and organic product focus.
We make it easy to buy good food by recommending healthier choices when customers are shopping or putting together their grocery list. We aim to cover 95% of barcoded food products available.

We have currently analysed over 95,000 products and stock around 500 items. We make it easy to order and include contactless delivery. Our mission is to improve the quality of food for the entire world.

Before the mass production and mass marketing of food from the 1950’s it was easier to eat healthier food as choice was restricted and products more wholesome. Today this is not the case. It is difficult to sort through the the marketing claims, labelling, ingredients and manufacturing processes used on food products to find the best one’s.
We can make a difference. We all have personal preferences and we make it easy for people to discover something thats right for them and healthier when they shop.
We work with leading and emerging brands and provide a marketplace for customers to access more healthy choices than what is available in regular supermarkets.
Suppliers can sell long-shelf life products in more than 20 product categories. In the future we will support fresh and other cold-storage items. Some popular categories include:
- Baking products
- Oils and Vinegar
- Sauces, dips and condiments
- Pasta sauce
- Herbs and Spices
- Nut milks and non-dairy milk
- Sweet spreads
Pricing products is an important factor in attracting customers, increasing demand and generating income.
There are several factors to keep in mind:
- What are your costs and fees? It costs money to sell on HeartFood so take this into account when setting prices. Also consider customer return fees and your own returns-related costs, such as product write-offs due to wastage or expiry.
- Competition. What are the competitor price points or RRP in-store or other online channels?
- Flexibility. Selling on HeartFood requires price flexibility. Your prices should change depending on your ranking and in response to customer demand, feedback and also competing products.
HeartFood’s Dynamic Pricing feature provides a unique way to set prices to attract more customers.
Dynamic pricing is a unique feature of HeartFood that provides customers with personalised special offers and promotions to generate more demand.
Suppliers can enable dynamic pricing in conjunction with special offers to increase brand awareness, reach new customers, and increase sales.
Listing products on HeartFood is FREE.
HeartFood operates as a retailer and maintains competitive margins.
We are working with select suppliers to participate in our Marketplace Agreement. Under this agreement suppliers can opt-in for variable pricing. For example the commission structure for each product sold will be charged as follows:
- FREE to list products
- $0.50 flat fee for each items sold; plus
- A 6-18% variable fee. This fee includes the cost component of shipping the product to the customer. Fees will be determined by the type of product you are selling, the category and any promotions at the time of sale.

As a seller, you need to organise shipping. If you are handling your own shipping you should keep track of inventory to ensure that accurate information about stock levels are available. It’s important to check orders daily so you can have orders shipped out on time.
Generally, suppliers will be responsible for shipping individual items to customers and shipping bulk orders directly to a HeartFood fulfilment centre.
Suppliers can also elect to use HeartFood’s shipping and storage service. This essentially allows sellers to store their products at HeartFood’s fulfilment centre. This works like any 3PL provider and there are fees for storage and handling.
